Offering a single leaf or 108 tulsi leaves to Shaligram Lord Vishnu in Ekadashi day(11th lunar day/favorite day of lord Vishnu) attains the merits of giving 1000 cow charity. Drinking even one drop of Saligram bathwater is more than drinking and going to a great pilgrimage and sacred river. POOJAN VIDHI: Shaligram is worshipped like one worships Lord Vishnu. Normally tulsi is used essentially and also a counch shell (Shankh) is also kept near the Shaligram. Daily worship with purity of heart and body is required to get full benefits from Shaligram. While Abhishek on Shivling, use bilvashtakam as Shiva Abhishek mantra. Give water and bilvapatra to Supreme Lingam. Chant Om Namah Shivaya during pouring water. Take care as leaf should be whole and not have any hole. Great devotee like Nandikeshwar also gets the blessing from Rudra by penance and worship.
